  1. Wash and soak chana dal for 1 hour. Then drain off the water completely. Allow it to dry on a kitchen towel for couple of hours or till dry.
  2. Heat oil and deep fry in batches till crispy. Take a bowl add red chilli powder, salt and black salt. Mix well. Spread it over the fried chana dal and mix it. Your namkeen chana dal is ready.

These can be made at home without much difficulty. Both Chana dal or Moong dal Namkeen is made in a similar manner.
